“Care needs to be taken with these toilets. They’re worth a
lot of money,” Randall says.
“We often receive calls from builders just before handover
to say they need a new lid or seat because the one they have
was all scratched and scuffed up during installation. It costs
them hundreds of dollars to replace these things. They can’t
just go to Bunnings and pick one up for a few bucks.”
Having been in the bidet game for 12 years now, Randall
says there’s more to these products than style and
innovation and explains how the functionality has made a

“When we started the Australian Bidet company over a
decade ago, three quarters of our customer base was elderly
or disabled. It’s amazing the number of people who simply
can’t wipe their own backsides. Think of people with arthritis
or who have lost limbs.
“We had a client who had lost both his hands. His wife
had to assist him with bathroom duties for 20 years. She
came across one of our ads and gave us a call to explain the
situation. We recommended one of our models that came
with a remote control featuring big buttons.
“We worked out that if they taped the bottom of the
remote to the floor with double sided tape, he could operate
it with his big toe. His wife sent us an email some months
later to say it has simply changed both of their lives. Hearing
that sort of feedback is really rewarding,” Randall says.
