PLUMBING CONNECTION

SPRING 2015

NEW PRODUCTS

INFLATABLE PIPESTOPPERS

These versatile Inflatable

Stoppers are used to service

a wide variety of industrial

applications. As “overnight

stoppers” they provide a strong

barrier in pipeline activities, to

prevent foreign bodies entering

the line during down time. In

machining applications, they can

be inserted below a horizontal

flange on a vertical pipe, to

prevent machining fluid from

falling below into expensive

machinery such as pumps and

turbines.

SPECIFY WITH EASE

Ardex Australia has launched a

comprehensive specification tool

on its website providing complete

recommendations for a range

of projects. Officially launched

at DesignBUILD in late April, the

specification tool is the first

of its kind and takes a product

selector a step further. The tool

covers three main categories:

waterproofing, tiling and flooring.

Users of the tool simply input

general information regarding

a project and are advised of all

the products required. Each

Specification document can be

easily downloaded, emailed

or printed for

use, offering

a wealth of

information at

your fingertips.

HANDY TOOLS

Suitable for various HVAC

ductwork applications, the new

Milwaukee Crimper and Speed

Seamer features a forged metal

head and over mould handles that

accommodate both overhand and

underhand use, adding comfort

for the user. when completing

tedious jobsite applications. The

Speed Seamer is also equipped

with 10mm and 25mm markings

for fast measurement of common

HVAC folding widths.

TOUGH TOOL BAGS

Coming in seven different styles,

GrearWrench’s tool bags are

available in a range of shapes and

sizes including; tote bags, medium

and large general tool bags and

bucket style sling bags to name a

few. Featuring the finest zippers,

buckles, handles, straps and a

minimum of 600 denier rip-stop

nylon, GearWrench’s tool bags

have been to last.

FOR A TIGHT GRIP

Locking pliers can be

fairly hit and miss and

you certainly get what you

pay for. Such is the mantra

of Irwin and their Vise-Grip

range. Their curved jaw locking

pliers feature a self-energising

lower jaw which provides 3X more

gripping power than traditional

locking pliers, with no slipping or

stripping. Without requiring heavy

input pressure the jaw mechanism

naturally grips tighter as more

torque is applied to the tool.

Plumbers will also appreciate the

one-handed, triggerless release

being 2X easier to open than

traditional locking pliers.

WIRELESS POWER

Bosch’s Wireless

Charging Technology

contains similar

inductive charging

technology to

that of the

recently launched

Apple Watch,

induction stovetops and electric

toothbrushes. While all Bosch

batteries feature an LED charge

indicator, checking it will be a

thing of the past as tradies across

Australia will be able to pick up

a tool with confidence, knowing

it’s always charged and ready to

go. When the charging station

is plugged in to a worksite and a

compatible wireless battery is

placed on it, the charger detects

the presence of the battery

in under a second and starts

emitting a magnetic field.
