Master Plumbers ACT: Thinking of hiring an apprentice or plumber?
Master Plumbers ACT is hosting an online event which looks at the benefits and incentives of hiring an apprentice plumber on 5 November 2020.
It points to the fact that people can hire an apprentice through a Group Training scheme which covers all the administrative aspects, the federal government’s increased subsidies for taking on a new apprentice and that plumbing professionals can employ qualified tradies under Labour Hire arrangement.
Australian Training Company’s (ATC) Josh Straub helps oversee the connection between host employer and apprentice. He’s speaking at the Master Plumbers event and will give attendees an administrative aspect when dealing with an apprenticeship.
ATC’s Karyn talks about a program called the Women in Construction Pathways Program which is designed to give Years 10 and 11 female students the opportunity to try different trades and professions in the construction industry.
The students will be Australian School Based Apprentices managed by ATC’s GTO. They will be undertaking pre-employment training and a Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure and one day working with a host employer each week.
There are a number of other speakers and presenters at the Master Plumbers ACT event which will take place at the CIT Plumbing School Fyshwick on 5 November 2020, starting at 10:30am.
