Vale Sydney Hawthorne
Remembering Plastec founder and director Vale Sydney (Syd) Hawthorne.
While teaching plumbing at TAFE in 1992, Syd made a quick clip which was a revolutionary way to secure hot and cold-water pipes.
From there Plastec was born and has grown into one of the largest plumbing product manufacturers and distributors in Australia.
Syd was a tenacious entrepreneur who was driven to develop solutions to solve problems within the plumbing industry. His can-do attitude was infectious and he will live on through the team at Plastec and the unique products he created.
