Showering Perfection by Methven
Methven – New Zealand’s global designer and manufacturer of premium showers and tapware for over 125 years has pioneered a new technology called Aurajet™, with a new design that defies convention.
Methven engineers designed the unique halo shaped showerhead with hidden nozzles that generate individual jets of water that collide against precisely-angled surfaces, creating a fan of dense droplets.
Launching Aurajet™ in Sydney, Methven Australia CEO Mark Bejatovic said the company had pushed the boundaries of hydrodynamics and after rigorous global testing produced a breakthrough spray technology. Methven integrated its ground-breaking Aurajet™ technology into a new shower collection, Aio.
Incorporating high-end aesthetics and materials, Aio uses intriguing contours and a modern minimalist composition throughout the range, while the showerhead employs a unique style-defining halo shape which is the centrepiece of any bathroom.
“The Aurajet™ Aio collection not only looks different, it is different,” said Mr Bejatovic. “Within the halo we have precision engineering and science combining to deliver the holy grail of showering – wider, even, luxurious coverage and enhanced droplet density.”
“The challenge for the Australian shower and tapware industry has been to find a shower that balances the consumer desire for water saving without compromising the showering experience. . Aurajet™ delivers this balance with achieving a pinnacle level of shower enjoyment as well as a three Star WELS rating with a peak flow rate of nine litres per minute.”
Mr Bejatovic said Aurajet™ has been tested by Methven in all of its key global markets – Australia, New Zealand, and the UK before its hometown launch last month. It will be available in the Australian market, exclusively at Reece stores nationwide, from 31 March.
“Consumer reaction during testing has been phenomenal,” said Mr Bejatovic. “The perfect shower is a deeply personal thing – if time in the shower is the only time you get to yourself, then you want it to be perfection. Aurajet™ satisfaction levels across gender, age and region have been universally high.”
Methven’s Aurajet™ shower delivers up to 20% more total spray force and two times the water coverage on the skin of conventional showers, leading to a more invigorating and luxurious showering experience.
Methven invested in thousands of research hours which provided inspiration for its Aurajet™ design. By studying consumer attitudes and preferences, Methven revealed that while the majority of Australians look for water-saving solutions, most would never compromise a good shower in favour of a water-saving one.
“Our aim was to produce a shower that was as close to perfection as possible, delivering water-saving without compromise in performance and design. There is also recognition of the importance of bathroom design in terms of adding value to a home. So we have aligned with Pantone, the world-wide experts in colour, to provide a beautiful choice of limited-edition of face plate colours which can be updated as trends and interior fashions change.”
The introduction of Aurajet™ technology cements Methven’s place as a global industry leader in shower innovation. Of the five shower spray technologies available, Methven owns the patents to two – the award winning Satinjet® and the new Aurajet™. Both of which are also backed by a lifetime guarantee.
