BizCover, the online business insurance company, has conducted a ‘Most In-Demand Trades’ study, analysing Google search data for over 165 trades, including the phrase “[trade] near me,” to identify the most in-demand trades. By incorporating location data and ranking each trade based on search volume per capita, the study highlighted the most sought-after trades nationwide and in various regions, along with potential hourly earnings sourced from Indeed.

According to the data, every year there are about 624,540 searches for electricians – more than any other trade – representing 39% of all online trade enquiries. Carpenters came second (158,970) followed by concreters (157,800), roofers (153,920), landscapers (105,860), builders (87,800) and tilers (80,840). Plumbers were the twelfth most sought-after trade searched online, with just 8,970 searches. In other words, there were approximately 70 times more searches for electricians than plumbers!
