Nozzle designed for fire protection

A new water hose nozzle, designed to provide protection in tunnel fires, is available through Tecpro.

The new RRZ nozzle, manufactured by PNR Italy, is a full cone nozzle designed specifically for fire protection in tunnels, particularly road and rail tunnels where potentially hundreds of lives are at risk.

Made from AISI 316 stainless steel, it can deliver high capacity water jets of 130 litres per minute and spray coverage of up to 12 metres at a two-metre installation height. It is able to deliver fine droplets of mist, even with pressures of five bar (72psi) and the nozzle can be customised to suit different specifications around flow rate and spray coverage.

It works by using water pressure to rotate and generate the water spray which, at high pressure, can create an atomised water cloud which is then distributed across a perfect circumference while achieving an instant 180 degree spray angle.

At low water pressures, it achieves a wide netting of 12 metres, with a coarser water droplet diameter.
