MPAQ celebrating World Plumbing Day
The Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ) will be hosting a breakfast event on Friday 9 March to celebrate World Plumbing Day (held on March 11 every year).
This year’s event is being held from 6:30am-9am at the Mercure Hotel in Brisbane and will be the launching pad for MPAQ’s 2018 fundraising campaign for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
This charity is dedicated to reducing the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men, their partners and families.
The event will also include a keynote address by Peter Davidson. Peter is a critical care paramedic who was aboard the first rescue helicopter to reach survivors in the ill-fated 1998 Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
This race was one of the worst maritime disasters in ocean racing history, with severe weather conditions resulting in the death of six sailors.
Peter was winched down into waves up to 80ft and wind gusts of 160km to successfully rescue eight survivors.
At the breakfast Peter will share the events, insights and leadership challenges that he and his crew faced.
