Importance of Flow Controllers for Water Efficiency

The Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) team has released a video on how flow controllers work in taps and showers, and why they shouldn’t be removed even if your clients ask for it.

We all know that removing them breaches the plumbing regulations and voids the warranty, but it still happens. The team wants you and your clients to rethink what it will do to the fitting and its performance, and the water wasted over the life of the product.

Customers who want a satisfying shower experience should know that even the most water efficient showerheads that have a 5 star rating have been engineered and tested to make sure they meet a user comfort test. This means that users will have a showering experience that is as good as a less efficient 3 star shower, but use less water.

Using less water means lower heating costs, leading to savings on both water and energy bills. So make the right move and keep those flow controllers in place for optimal performance and savings.
