IAPMO celebrated its first day of construction at its Narre Warren-based energy efficient and appliance safety laboratory.

The laboratory is funded by the Victorian Government’s Industry R&D Infrastructure scheme and will be dedicated to test and clarify new renewable energy technologies to ensure that they meet standards and are safe for installation.

The goal is to reduce emissions while keeping with the state’s transition to carbon neutral products.

IAPMO Oceania managing director of Paul Bonsak emphasises the need for innovation to ensure safety for Victorians.

“We need to make sure that we are developing new technologies, that we also do testing to ensure the safety of our community and the safety of our installers,” he says.

“This laboratory that we are constructing will do that.”

IAPMO Global chief executive Dave Viola also highlights the important role of the laboratory, claiming that it is the only place like it in the world.
