The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) Codes app is now available for free download.

The app makes it possible for users to access their purchased code books, even when offline. It also gives access to technical staff, allows them to apply for technical committees or request information about the code development process.

Electronic versions of the 2015 and 2018 codes will be accessible when the user logs into the app. They can then make annotations and recordings, view current code development timelines and stay informed about breaking news, upcoming committee meetings, proposal submission deadlines and more.

Codes available in the app include: 2015 and 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code; 2015 and 2018 Uniform Mechanical Code; 2018 National Standards Illustrated Plumbing Code; 2015 Uniform Solar Energy and Hydronics Code; 2018 Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code; 2017 Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard; 2015 and 2018 Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code.

IAPMO vice president of codes and standards development Hugo Aguilar says the Codes app will provide jurisdictions everywhere with an additional tool to use in the field.

“This added service benefits inspectors, contractors, installers and homeowners, as they will be getting direct access to the IAPMO technical team for any code questions and be engaged in the code development process.”

The app will provide offline access to users in areas with poor or no internet connection.

Hugo adds: “The IAPMO Codes will fill the gap between the industry and codes development so that together we can improve the lives of many while preserving the health and welfare of everyone.”
