Rinnai Australia has acquired Perth-based Specialized Engineering, a manufacturer of commercial and industrial air conditioning products. These include rooftop packaged systems, large capacity ducted split systems, vertical packages and split units, as well as other customised products and spare parts.

The acquisition, which had backing from Rinnai Japan, complements and expands Rinnai’s HVAC offering, extending the range up to large commercial packaged and split products over 160kW in capacity. This will effectively cover the construction industry, the retail and specialist markets, as well as the aftermarket sectors.

Specialized Engineering director and founder Chris Miller has joined the Rinnai executive and will facilitate the smooth transition to Rinnai ownership. He will also manage the Commercial HVAC growth and expansion plans going forward, and said the acquisition is an exciting next step for the brand.

Rinnai managing director Greg Ellis also welcomed the acquisition.
