2014 Backflow Prevention Conference Success
Members and guests from all over Australia and across the world met in Melbourne over the first weekend of August for the 2014 National Backflow Prevention Conference.
Inside and protected from what was the coldest weather seen for some years in Melbourne, the conference delegates listened to presentations on all aspects of backflow.
Guest presenters from the USA, New Zealand and from all around Australia provided informative and interesting presentations. The trouble shooting and repair presentation by Mark Inman from American Backflow products was of interest to both testers and regulators alike.
Rather than speaker’s gifts, this year a donation was made to assist indigenous training programs so that tradespeople can benefit their communities through plumbing and working toward safe reliable drinking water for all.
It was a chance to meet new people and renew past acquaintances as well as learn about new products from the Trade Expo.
“The feedback has been most complimentary”, said the BPAA President, Peter McLennan, who also suggests that there is a real desire by the industry to make this an annual event.
The presentations are available on their new look website.
