Project managers for projects using large Nominal Bore pipes need to have a method to secure them in place. “We’ve developed large nominal bore products that have been used to support heavy pipes with a nominal bore up to nearly 2 and a half metres,” says Steve Palmer, Building Services Manager at EzyStrut.

The company has a system in place where using specialist support engineers, they can look at the size/mass of the oversized pipe on the project, and looking at how many times it needs to be supported, can design and fabricate in South Australia either large two piece clamps, saddles, or reinforced pipe shoes to support them and work around other site requirements. Another important consideration for specialist installers of mechanical systems’ pipes is vibration resistant/acoustic clamping. Often these requirements can be over a range of nominal bores, and can need to withstand significant temperature ranges, and be compliant with internationally recognised standards.
