Efficiency Label WELL ahead
The European valve manufacturers association EUnited Valves in principle welcomes all efforts for the sustainable use of water. Concurrently it emphasises the different framework conditions within Europe which make uniform rules very questionable.
The efforts of the European sanitary valve industry have been focusing on the development of water and energy saving products for many years now. To substantiate these efforts the efficiency label WELL – Water Efficiency Label was launched two years ago, thus enabling the consumer to assess the water consumption of a sanitary tap at a glance.
The WELL label does not only focus on the water consumption but also on energy related parameters, e.g. temperature management and time. Hygienic aspects are also included. The product range of the label covers taps for bathroom and kitchen as well as shower valves and WC- and urinal flush systems. In this context the label differentiates demand-specificly between products for private households (Home) and for public buildings (Public).
By using a simple classification – also known from white goods -, the efficiency of a valve can be assessed very easily.
With more than 20 companies nearly all major manufacturers in Europe have classified many products in the WELL system.
This broad acceptance creates trust and transparency for the consumer.
