Victoria ranks third in plumbing vacancies per capita in Australia, according to research conducted by J&J Plumbing Services.

The survey found that Victoria has the third-highest demand for plumbing professionals with an average of 6.17 job ads per 100,000 people, 19% above the national average.

Victoria averaged 432.33 plumbing job ads with the highest number in May 2023 with 474, while the lowest was in May 2024 with 420.

“Victoria ranked third in plumber job ads per capita, highlighting a critical workforce gap,” a J&J Plumbing Services spokesperson says

“The elevated demand suggests rising service costs and the risk of project delays if the gap isn’t filled promptly. This highlights the urgent need for targeted training programmes and strategic recruitment to support essential infrastructure and local communities.”
